There isn’t much I love more then traveling to new places combined with capturing the wedding of a long-time friend of mine. With a laid-back approach to their day, Chad and Monica’s wedding near the coast of Virginia ended up being such a sweet time celebrating with dear family and friends. With beautiful cloud coverage to work with, beautiful flowers and details assembled by the bride and family themselves, and a welcoming environment, I felt right at home between these two families coming together to celebrate this couple’s marriage. Chad and Monica, thank you both for inviting me to take part in your life together as a couple. I hope your marriage continues to be as beautiful as your wedding day was!
Newborn Session, Rutherford Family, Lynchburg, VA
After three photo sessions with this family, I can still say they are just as much a pleasure to work with as the very first time working with them. This time, our shoot was in the comfort of their lovely home and yard, and it made for a relaxing environment to work in. Thank you both for opening up your home and working within a limited space, window light, and shifting shadows. I love working with people that are adaptable to various situations and requests, so thank you for that! I loved capturing your one-week-old son and I can’t wait to watch this little man grow up and hopefully capture more of him in the months and years ahead.
Zelda Portraits, Hannah, Virginia Forests
The first snowfall of our winter season, this beautiful lady, and this incredibly detailed costume by Salia Designs, provided the perfect combination for our January shoot. When I heard about the custom design work that Hannah was having done by our mutual friend and artist Tammi, I couldn’t wait to see the results! We agreed that a photoshoot was in order as soon as Virginia received its first snowfall. Thankfully, we had our opportunity in January after our area received close to a foot of snow.
Tammi, thank for your countless hours and attention to detail that went into this ensemble, you truly are an artist! Hannah, you did a fabulous job on your own hair and make-up, and I loved our time together working on bringing out the fierce side of you. ;-) Nothing I love more then collaborating with other incredible ladies such as yourselves. Thank you for allowing me to capture all of this, and hopefully do justice to your beautiful creation.

Christmas Portraits, Dan & Lauren, Lynchburg, VA
Thanks to our warmer Virginia weather, we still had a few fall colors lingering for our winter shoot, so I enjoyed getting two different looks during this time. With perfect evening light, a beautiful setting, and this couple to work with, I hope we will be able to re-live our time together for years to come. Thanks for asking me to capture your love, laughter, and even a few quiet moments leading up to this Christmas season.
I’m not sure who laughed more during this shoot, but it had to be one of the most therapeutic sessions for me to date. You know you love what you do when you spent half of the time taking pictures laughing together. Dan and Lauren, I know initially you were just wanting updated pictures this Christmas, but after over an hour spent with you in front of my camera, it provided the perfect opportunity to get to know you better and watch the way you interacted while developing our friendship. I have no doubt that you both will continue to have fun together and make each other laugh for years to come, just as you did with me on this beautiful afternoon.
