As someone who runs a small business from home, one thing I’m passionate about is networking and supporting others in the same pursuit. Featuring a local Airbnb was a step out of my comfort zone with my photography, as I typically shoot only portraits, but this was satisfying in a whole new way. It was wonderful being able to add value to another person’s small home business. Maternity Session, Joy Landa, Timberlake, VA
This family has a special place in my heart as they have been a part of my church family, a part of my small group, and we have all done many hikes, cookouts, and bible studies together over the years. They have both challenged me and loved me, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled when Joy asked me about taking maternity portraits for her second pregnancy. This woman is beautiful both inside and out, and has an incredible calling upon her life…being a mother to her growing family. Motherhood today is so often undervalued as a career unto itself and I love that Joy has embraced it all; with grace, boldness, and commitment to leave a lasting impact on the next generation.

Engagement Session, Jacob & Hannah, Cole Mountain
This engagement session holds a special place in my heart, as Hannah has been such a close friend for so many years, and best friends with my sister for as long as I can remember. Our families were practically inseparable growing up, and it is such a privilege to be able to walk with her through this next phase of her life as the Lord has brought such an incredible man to walk alongside her. It has been wonderful watching them grow and plan for a future marriage together.
My dream has been to shoot an engagement session up on Cole Mountain for years now, and I couldn’t have asked for a more appropriate couple to go up there with as these two practically live outdoors. They even started a fire and made coffee on the mountaintop to complete off the shoot!! Does it get any more perfect then this!? Jacob and Hannah, thanks for braving the cold with me, hiking miles together, and letting me capture the fire that you both share. Love looks good on you and I can’t wait for your wedding later this year!!
Newborn Session, Rutherford Family, Charlottesville, VA
Each shoot with this family usually includes a new setting and one additional family member, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!! Love this growing family and their new home in the Charlottesville area. It provided a wonderful backdrop to take newborn portraits of the newest edition to their family, their son Oliver. He did splendidly for the entire shoot, although he was determined to stay awake for all of it. I don’t think he wanted to miss a thing! Chris and Jamie, I love your new son, your new home, and all the warm light and love that fills it.
