Engagement, Josh & Shaina - Raleigh, NC

     One of the first warm Sunday earlier this spring called for a trip down to Raleigh to the William B. Umstead State Park were I met up with this wonderful, newly-engaged couple. We spent a couple of hours among the first few blooming trees of the season, wandering through forests, over bridges, and completely covering our feet in pollen with every step. Every spring brings with it new and exciting changes, and one of the most exciting things for me was to receive news of my dear friend of almost 10 years now getting engaged to the man of her dreams…after 7 years of waiting and praying for this moment.

Good things are always worth the wait. And Josh, you were one of those things.

I am so excited to watch your relationship continue to bloom, for many springs to come...Thank you for inviting me along for the journey and I can’t wait to capture and watch you wedding day unfold and to celebrate with both you and your families.

            Best friends. Every major milestone has been reached together. We’ve grown up together from five years old. From traveling two hours together for violin lessons, to getting engaged 24 hours apart from each other, we have been there for each other...through both significant and small achievements alike - always cheering each other on along the way.

            This year marks a significant one for our friendship, as she is going ahead of me for the first time and embarking on this new and exciting stage of motherhood. I know I may not always be able to relate to everything she may be experiencing, but of one thing I am sure of…my commitment to be there for her regardless of what may come.

           I couldn’t be more excited my dear friend Jessica and her husband Ben as they prepare for the arrival of their newest little additional to their family this July. Jessica, I am looking forward to you fully embracing your new role as a mother and watching you experience and give love in an entirely new way. My hope is that I will continue to be here for you through all of the ups and down that motherhood brings…as I know you would do no less of me when that day comes. I am continually blessed by your friendship and I will be cheering for you every step for the way. You truly are beautiful, inside and out.
